Welcome!

My name is Sam and I live in a small town in Wisconsin with my husband and our two kiddos. We also have an orange tabby cat named Kit and our sweet dog Lucy pup. I love delving into scripture, photographing everyday moments of Grace with my iphone, blogging, creating music with my hubby, and organizing events and support for our local Moms Community. I’m also a fan of large brimmed sunhats, hydrangeas, twinkle lights, mason jars, and folk music.

Oh and Motherhood. My biggest passion and the Joy of my life.

If you only read that first paragraph, you might think that life seems pretty ordinary over here. You wouldn’t know at face value that we’ve endured four years of unexplained infertility, one failed adoption match, a miracle pregnancy, and are now loving life with the addition of our second miracle babe.E6B64C5B-CB8E-4D37-B0B5-F81FD3583941

This blog is a recounting of all of that, but mostly it’s a documentation of God’s grace in our life as we continue on.

Our story is made up of  hard and difficult, yet beautifully broken things, right alongside  the simple everyday moments. All of these things have built our testimony and will continue to build it, and I’m betting the same is true for you as well. We know that God isn’t finished writing our story yet and this space is a place for me to simply document, and not hide away, the beautiful, hard, and grace filled things God is doing in our ordinary life.

When I look at Jesus I see that He didn’t hide himself away in the temple but instead walked right into the personal lives of ordinary people. It was within the walls of their homes that He miraculously healed them, challenged them, and invited them into closer relationship with Him. He ate at their dining room tables. He walked along the road with them. He sat among them. This blog is about Jesus at home. It’s about how Grace has entered into the ordinary parts of my life in very real and tangible ways.

I’m so excited for you to join me as God continues to build our story over here at The Olsonhaus!

P.S. Some of you may recognize me from my previous blog Hand Washed Grace which is still available with all of its content over at handwashedgrace.wordpress.com
